On 22nd Sep 2014, a delegation of Indian Ex-Services League with by Lt Gen Balbir Singh, PVSM, VSM, comprising of the following veterans, called on His Excellency the Hon’ble President of India :-

The Hon’ble President of India, was apprised of the various ongoing welfare activities for Ex-Servicemen, their dependents and families, undertaken by IESL. A brief backdrop of these activities since our raising in 1964 i.e., in the past five decades, was also intimated to the Hon’ble President.
The following issues were placed for the kind consideration of the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces:-
(a)One Rank One Pension for Military Veterans.
(b)Arrears of increased pension be given wef 01 Jan 2006 as was being
done for civilians.
(c )NFU status be made applicable to Defence Service Officers in the
same way as applied to civil counter parts.
(d)7th CPC – Concerns of the Military Personnel may please be addressed fully.
(e)Down gradation of Military Status/equation. With every year passing Officers of Armed Forces are being downgraded in Order of Precedence (OOP). During the sixties a Police Commissioner of Kolkatta or Chennai ( then Calcutta and Madras) was equivalent to a Lt Col. Today a Commissioner wears the rank of a Director General.
(f)Pension of World War II Veterans/Widows.
The Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, graciously consented to examine the issue of the Ex-Officio appointment of the Grand Patron -in -Chief of the Indian Ex-Services League.
